Meet the Makers

More than anything, ShareHope is about people. The clothing we make, the programs we create, and the partnerships we foster are all designed to empower Haitian garment workers and give them opportunities to pursue their dreams.

So allow us to introduce you to some of the faces behind the clothing and programs. The people who inspire us every day.

Meet Jean-Baptiste.

Jean-Baptiste was born deaf and was the only deaf member of his family. He was pushed aside by his family, not given the chance to attend school with his siblings. Jean-Baptise is now getting the literacy skills he never got as a child through ShareHope’s programs for deaf and hard-of-hearing workers.

Meet Tania.

Tania became deaf as a child, but was fortunate enough to attend school through high school and learn sign language. She is one of two deaf peer educators for ShareHope’s health training program called HERhealth, where she’s trained all of the deaf workers in her factory. Tania is passionate about helping other deaf workers and has become a spokesperson for them.

Meet Jacques.

Jacques works as ShareHope’s office custodian and is the heart of the ShareHope offices. His smile, good attitude, generous heart, and desire to do his work to the highest quality is an inspiration to everyone who walks into the office.
